Hey everyone,
I hope you’re doing well. Today, I wanted to have a heart-to-heart about something that’s been weighing on my mind lately.
Firstly, I think I am more than qualified to talk about this, since I run multiple (successful) blogs with freelance writers, advertising contracts, in many different web niches.
As many of you may have noticed, recent updates to Google’s algorithms have brought about significant changes in organic traffic for web publishers. It’s a reality that many of us in the online sphere are grappling with, and it’s something that we’re actively working to adapt to.
With these changes happening, we lost almost all our advertising contracts and about 95% of our traffic and revenue.
we weren’t the only independent publisher to experience this. HouseFresh, and RetroDodo are also pretty big examples, with them experiencing a similar drop in traffic to us.
I’d suggest reading this article by HouseFresh, as well as this follow-up to completely understand how this is ruining online publishing.
In the midst of these changes, I’ve found myself reflecting on the importance of our newsletter subscription. You see, our newsletter isn’t just another subscription—it’s a lifeline, a way for us to stay connected with you, our valued readers, in an increasingly turbulent digital environment where getting readers is getting harder.
But perhaps most importantly, subscribing to our newsletter ensures that you never miss out on the content that matters most to you. While algorithms may change and organic traffic may fluctuate, our newsletter remains a constant—a personalized experience tailored specifically to your interests and preferences.
So if you haven’t already, I encourage you to take a moment to subscribe to our newsletter today. Together, we can navigate these changes, embrace the opportunities they present, and emerge stronger on the other side.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
